It idles at 99.8 db and hits 116 db by 4,000 rpm. Love it.

Considered doing the death proof skull but I think I won’t do that now. Currently it just has race numbers from various event scattered about the car plus all the ‘O’ shaped marks where I’ve set my beer cans on it while wrenching. It’s a living art piece.

It’s perfect, but where’s the rear mounted dashcam to capture the looks on the faces of the McDonalds employees while you light ‘em in the drivethrough?

I ran my jeep for a few weeks with an open manifold after I changed the engine last summer. Never got actual db’s, but I have one friend who lives out in the middle of nowhere. The drive leaving her house was a half-mile south, two miles west, and then north again for another mile, and west some more. She claimed she could hear me leave every single intersection. That’s when I decided it needed a little more sound control. I realize it’s quiet out where she lives, but there’s no reason I should be being heard from a couple miles away...

I usually keep a gopro pointed right at the side pipe exit. You can see it shoot flames at night.

The farther from urban centres you go, the nicer the cops get.

But now I have 3 exhaust tips! Essential its Ferrari 458.
Really though I can bolt on the cover plate for the dump when I want to sell it and it’ll sound stock.

Might change your tune when you need megaphones to communicate with people in your own house at the ripe old age of 26.
Trav and I have seriously terrible hearing from years of dirtbikes, sport bikes, drag strips, old V8s with shitty exhaust, concerts, etc. We’re not even 30 yet and going to need rally intercoms soon.
/soapbox, enjoy your vette

How? Wait? What?
How do you have any hearing left? Also, cammed? I have no idea how something idles at damn near 100 db.

Ah, youth. I love the sound of an unmuffled V8 but at this stage of my life I couldn’t deal with it continually. Maybe the pattern of my hearing loss just makes it unpleasant, but even beyond the sheer volume there’s the fact that you sound like you’re driving like a maniac even when you’re not. Slight press of the gas to accelerate from a stop light and VROOOM.

My Chevy breaks so often, I’d rather hear the parts falling off before it’s too late. lol.
We had a ‘68 427 4-speed vette for a while when I was a kid, made about 500hp. It had mufflers, but it was actually fast so it didn’t really matter.

My hearing is great! Though if I’m driving it for more than 40 mins I need earplugs. The answer to that would be compression. My Corvette runs at 11.0:1 compression which just means louder bangs and that it needs 93 octane to run. And it has a bit of a cam. Not sure specs because it was in the car when I bought it.

No exhaust is awesome, until a few days later when it’s not and you hate your life. Mine came when I discovered a rusty spot in the floorboard was leaking exhaust into the cabin.

Sweet!
I used to love terrorizing the neighborhood on open headers in the Chevelle and later the Omni.
